Tanhuma bar Abba
(fl. 4th cent)
   Palestinian amora. He developed the art of homiletics and, according to tradition, was the author of many midrashim which begin 'Yelammedenu Rabbenu' ('Let our teacher pronounce'), including those that make up the Midrash Tanhuma.
